Travis B. Wells
Travis Wells is a Chamoru sovereignty activist and community organizer currently based in Nisenan/Miwok territories (Sacramento, CA). Travis’ studies and work in community prioritizes dismantling white supremacy, patriarchy, and capitalism and replacing them with Indigenous paradigms that center collective care. Travis Joins the NHPI Alliance as the Board Vice Chair and inaugural Currents Convening coordinator. Outside of the Alliance, Travis is a Senior Program Associate for the Sierra Health Foundation’s Elevate Youth California social change program; Vice President of the Chamoru Community Club of Sacramento; and Online Education Program Coordinator for Hale’ Para Agupa. He is also active in mutual aid efforts across California and decolonization organizing efforts on the Marianas archipelago (Guam and the CNMI).
Travis graduated from American River College with a degree in Political Science, and earned his B.A. in International Policy & Development and Masters of Arts in Conflict Resolution & Social Justice from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS) in Monterey, CA. In his off time, he enjoys playing video games, spending time with family and cultural workers, and enjoying different cuisines from across the world.
